I am a physician with passion for the profession, and a strong dedication to my patients, with broad interests and curiosity. Internationally, I have worked with underprivileged in our society through internships and as a voluntary. Since the integrity of blood vessels plays an important role in inflammatory and infectious diseases, my research focuses on the barrier function of the blood vessels of the central nervous system. 

After extensive clinical experience in (immuno-)oncology, gastroenterology, cardiology, and palliative care, I currently work in pulmonology at the Amsterdam UMC. The field’s diversity and diagnostic depth, combined with its focus on personalized care, strongly resonate with me. As a person, I strive to approach each individual with an open and fresh perspective. It gives me a warm feeling when patients tell me they feel seen. My work as a performer for children and adults keeps me creative and sharp.
